Area of Special Protection for Birds (ZEPA: Zona Especial de Protección de Aves). Lots of birds can be observed from the house, such as griffon vultures, falcons, short-toed eagles, golden eagles. Also walking, hiking, cycling, golf, hunting, swimming in natural swimming pools.
Main attraction of Valencia de Alcántara area is the megalithic remains.
The Contemporanea Festival is in Alburquerque at the end of July. In August the Medieval Festival of Alburquerque.
The Chestnut Fair in Marvao on the second Sunday of November.
The local feast of Valencia de Alcántara is 15th of May (Saint Isidor).
